Rule of thumb: Never pass through Temecula, CA without eating at Rosa's Cantina in Oldtown. The food is outstanding and very reasonably priced. You can eat some great Mexican food and watch the classic cars drive down historical "Front Street". The casual atmosphere is very inviting and kid friendly. We ate here again today as we do about once a month. Here are some camera phone photos of the kids giving their approvals.

In other news:

My close friend, Mike D., graduated from dental school today. CONGRATS MIKE!!! I could sense relief in Mike's voice as I spoke to him this morning before commencement. I only hope to feel as calm in a room full of dentists.

Facts about Mike D:

For those of you reading this blog who do not know Mike, I would like to make it publically known that Mike is the guy who got me through Mathematical Statistics in undergraduate school. It is said in the Catholic church that to achieve sainthood one must perform 3 miracles. After Mike's tutorship in Statistics he now only needs to perform two more. We all know it is a miracle that I passed that class. (note to self: upload pic of St. Mike D. here)

He stayed at my parents house in the fall of 2006 when he was doing a rotation for his dental program. Since that time the room that he stayed in has been refered to "Mike's Room". It is not uncommon to hear someone say, "I am going to take a nap in Mike's bed" or "When Carly and Bucky come to visit they are going to stay in Mike's Room".

I taught Mike how to surf (at least I am taking credit for it), and now he is better than me. I hate you Mike!

Serious Note: Mike, Kirk B. and I came as close to death as I have ever been in my life one day whilst attempting to surf a break on the North Shore of Oahu called Rock Piles. The waves were taller than the 2 story apartments we lived in and we got caught in the impact zone. Whenever we talk about it we just look at eachother and know that we are lucky to be alive today.

and with that I will close the blog for tonight.
